Hello NBTi friends! We are so excited to announce our 2022 Marin Spring Season and all the dates that are coming up soon! A separate email is to follow with Sonoma spring season info.
This season will kick off with sign ups for
The Wizard of OZ!
We are thrilled to collaborate with Stapleton School of the Performing Arts to offer a very exciting Youth Theatre workshop this spring! All rehearsals at SSPA with performances at TBA.
After a tornado whisks her away to the magical land of Oz, young Dorothy Gale teams up with a Scarecrow, a Tin Woodsman and a Cowardly Lion to find the mighty Wizard of Oz, who can send her home. Along the way, they must avoid the clutches of the Wicked Witch of the West, who is trying to steal the mysterious magic slippers that once belonged to her evil sister... but are now on Dorothy's feet. Dorothy eventually learns just how magical friendship can be and how wonderful it can feel to go home again. In our "for kids by kids" approach, students will not only act, sing and dance; they will also participate in creating sets, props, and costuming!
Tuition is $600, this includes a non refundable $50 production fee.
Auditions take place on January 18th from 4pm-6pm at Stapleton School (SSPA)
Rehearsals are Tuesdays and Fridays from 4-6 and Performances are 3/25-3/27. This program is for Kids and young people ages 8-18. This program kicks off on January 18th with a free Audition workshop so make sure your young actor signs up today!
The Sound of Music
We know how much we missed live theater and being onstage with our Stapleton friends and family, so sign up for the Multigenerational program this spring!
This year North Bay Theatrics in partnership with Stapleton School of the Performing Arts presents “The Sound of Music”.
Your Director for this production is the esteemed Bruce Vieria who has a long history with Stapleton, your Musical Director is the beloved music-maven Judy Wiesen, and the show is being produced by Kathy Alvarez Kingman who has previously been a cast member in several productions. Please feel free to get to know your team as well as all the team members that will soon be coming on to support this show.
This is a paid workshop. Young people will learn how to work in a cast with an oftentimes more experienced generation. There will be an introduction to basic theater terminology and etiquette, a costume workshop, a makeup workshop (including theater makeup hygiene) and training on wig care. Registration fees are due before the first scheduled rehearsal on 2/15
Adults will have access to the same workshops and have access to an advanced workshop for makeup and wig care.
The master schedule is posted in the “Amilia” registration, the cast schedule will be updated and published periodically and may require less attendance based on casting and cast conflicts.
Rehearsals are Tuesdays & Fridays 6:30-9 and Sundays from 4-7 for kids and 6-9 for adults. Sunday hours may change.

AUDITIONS:
Casting a show is about more than who does well at auditions. It is about finding people who not only are able to sing and act in a specific role but who also are an appropriate fit with others in the cast. We take this job very seriously and will make the best decisions we can for this show. Please know, that no matter what role a participant plays in the show – named role, ensemble, crew - each member is an important part of the experience and is expected to behave in a professional manner and to be treated with respect. We look forward to an awesome experience!
Auditions will take place February 8th, 10th and 11th with callbacks on February 13th.*
STAGE CREW:
No theatrical production would be complete without a strong crew supporting it. Being a part of the crew for “The Sound of Music” can include building and painting sets, working with lights and sound, being responsible for props, costumes and makeup, as well as being a part of the crew to move set pieces during the performance itself. If you or your child would like to be a part of the production but would rather not be onstage, please contact us at Office@NorthBayTheatrics.org to enroll in tech support training (ages 12+).
HOW TO ENROLL:
Signing up is a two step process. Please read the whole thing before you start.
SIGN UP TO AUDITION: This year is a little different from previous years. In order to keep from gathering a lot of people together at the same time to audition, we have created a schedule to promote staggered arrivals. You will need to schedule your audition at THIS LINK. You may choose when you audition by claiming a spot. Auditioning is free, but should you decide to take on the role you will need to register before the first rehearsal on 2/15. In light of COVID concerns we are also accepting video auditions. Please CLICK HERE to see what the requirements are for video auditions.
REGISTER FOR THE PROGRAM: You will also need to enroll in the program. Auditioning only allows us to place you as a character in the show. To enroll in the workshop you will need to REGISTER HERE. That link will take you to the class scheduling software that will allow you to enroll. You may choose to pay for your workshop fee all at once, or make payments.
* Sound of Music Auditions have been moved from January to February due to covid concerns.
We hope to see you this season!
